Our Favorite Healthy Habits

We believe that a healthy life starts with creating healthy habits. But there are so many things out there that everyone says to do, and often, they contradict each other. After so many years of trying things and seeing what has worked for me and what hasn’t, I wanted to share what has worked for me in the hopes that it helps you too. So here we go:

1. Wake up early: This may sound cliche, but here’s my take on waking up early… If you wake up early, you’re less likely to be stressed out, or be in a rush. And when we are in a rush, or we are stressed, we tend to go to the good old comfort foods! And I believe that if we go to bed early, we are less likely to

2. Drink Water (or Seltzer): A lot of times, our brain confuses thirst and hunger, so sometimes if we are super thirsty, we confuse it with being hungry, and eat when we don't actually need it. So if you're feeling super hungry, try to drink an entire glass of water with lemon and wait 20 minutes to see if you're still hungry. Bonus: Drink seltzer or flavored seltzers as an added bonus, because the bubbles keep you fuller longer. But make sure the flavored ones don't have any sugar.

3. Walk: Humans are meant to walk, and walking even 5,000 - 10,000 steps per day can increase happiness, give us clarity in thoughts, and help us lose weight. Plus, walks feel amazing!

4. Wait 20 Minutes: It takes us 20 minutes for our stomach to send signals to our brain that we are full. So once you finish your plate, wait 20 minutes and see if you're still hungry.

5. Practice the 80/20 Rule: Getting healthy and staying healthy doesn't have to be miserable. You can still enjoy your favorite treats, just keep it to only 20% of the time.
